Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction For 12/29

Impact WrestlingIn Ring Segment:

Sting interrupts Gail Kim and Madison Rayne, who are yellng at Brooke and Tara. Sting basically takes control of the Knockouts Division in this segment, and books Gail vs. Mickie James for later. Since Karen is out, Sting is now in charge.

What I Liked:

The show starts off with Sting taking control, seizing all power. That was a good idea to show him full controlling the talent, even if it to do with the Knockouts.

What I Disliked:

Why in the world would you start a show with Knockouts? All sexism jokes aside, female wrestlers do not sell, have never sold, and will never carry a show. I don't agree with it, but it is just a fact of society and life in professional wrestling. It was so ridiculous to start off a show with this, focusing on the fifth or sixth most important thing going on in TNA.

Wild Card Tournament: Abyss and Scott Steiner vs. Kazarian and AJ Styles:

What I Liked:

Once again, the pairings here were different and unique, with Styles and Kazarian carrying the speed and athleticism in the match. I also liked how we saw more of a different Abyss here, one who utilized alot of his reversals and focused more on defending himself. I also enjoyed the turn he had on Steiner, as I felt it is much deserved and has been given enough time. Abyss was being dragged down by a veteran like Steiner who has very little in the tank. His skills are limited in the storyline building department.

What I Disliked:

The pace of the match felt like it was rushed from move to move. It was given decent time, but the flow was frustrating to watch. Everything happened quick, and was not built for a finish. Abyss and Steiner seem to get into a single's match in the future, which I do not like. What is there to gain from this? Exactly.

Grade: C+

Bully Ray comes out and yells at Abyss. He asks what Abyss wants, and Abyss says he wants a match with him, one on one. They book it for Genesis, a Monster's Ball Match. If he loses, he will join Immortal again.

Sting and Angle are backstage talking, and Sting talks about what Kurt Angle did to Storm's hometown last week. Angle says that is nothing compared to what he will do to Storm. Sting books RVD vs. Kurt Angle for later, much to Angle's dismay.
