Justin Gabriel vs. Jinder Mahal:
What I Liked:
Shockingly, this match was not too bad. There was decent athleticism, good work from Gabriel and Mahal. Gabriel only hit a few moves, and DiBiase comes out to distract Mahal. I guess this is the best they can write for DiBiase currently with the many faces in front on him, such as Sheamus, Bryan, Orton, Big Show, Kofi, and even Booker T. I always enjoy seeing Gabriel hit his 450 Splash.
What I Disliked:
The idea of having Jinder Mahal feud with Ted. He already squashed him, already beaten him with ease, and needs a legit competitor. I want DiBiase relevant, and this feud will do nothing for him. Gabriel deserves to be in a Tag Team as well, as I feel he can grow there, become more of a premier star with some help, and give us great matches with Kofi and the returning Bourne.
Grade: C
Mick Foley is backstage, as we get a quick funny bit with Dusty Rhodes saying there are some weird people and his son, Goldust, says he has not noticed. Foley books Orton vs. Otunga for tonight.
Booker T is interviewed by Striker, but Rhodes come from behind and attacks Booker T. Cole announces that the match is cancelled for tonight. Right Decision, to continue the build and continue the feud for an actual payoff.
Kofi Kingston vs. Tyson Kidd:
What I Liked:
The fast paced action to start off the match. Kidd got the early offensive advantage, with elbow and submission holds. You see the complexity of Kidd's game in a short instance. Kofi hits a beautiful dropkick onto Kidd, which was a nice spot.
What I Disliked:
Where is the story here? I do not understand why Kofi laughed at Michael Cole, only for Kidd to get a quick kick in. There is no history between Cole and Kofi, and it shows a lack in creative booking. Kofi puts the reindeer costume, really? It is NOVEMBER, not Christmas. The "Holiday Special" is getting to a point where there is no understanding and sensible writing. Kofi needs Bourne back, to get out of this lack of creativity with his character. He is single dimensional, lacks character, and is not given time to build on his character.
