#3. The Turkey Brings Up A Good Point
Former WWE star, Kizarny (now going by Sinn Bodhi on the Independents), recently posted a video complaining about a WWE.com article that listed him as the third biggest turkey in WWE history.
Most of you are probably thinking the same thing right now that I did when I first read about this story. Who cares, right? This type of stuff happens all the time and most former superstars simply let it go and move on. Well, not Kizarny.
In this video, it certainly seemed like he had genuine emotions regarding this dishonor. Personally, Kizarny being upset that WWE labeled him a "turkey" in a Thanksgiving article isn't the part that bothers me. What he said after that is what I found most interesting.
Apparently, he pleaded to John Laurinaitis several times to have WWE set up help programs for former stars with mental and psychological issues as a result of being fired from their dream job. Kizarny said that he mentioned his friend, Shawn McGrath, by name to Laurinaitis a year before Shawn committed suicide in January of this year.
McGrath was released from a WWE developmental deal in February of 2008.
It's a sad story and one that Kizarny has every right to bring up and address. WWE will spend countless dollars on former stars with addiction problems, but what about those with issues from the neck up? WWE crushes dreams regularly and there are a certain percentage of people that will have a hard time dealing with that mentally.
WWE didn't "knowingly" disregard McGrath's problems and isn't the cause of his death. However, I certainly think it's something that should be addressed from this point on. If WWE can do "anything" to potentially prevent something like this from happening again in the future, I think it's worth the time it would take to do it.
