Mick Foley Returns To WWE
One Deserved Step Up
Mick Foley is truly a unique breed in pro wrestling.
Take his career accomplishments inside the ring out of the equation and you are still left with someone worth writing about. What he has done with his celebrity status since leaving WWE is nothing short of inspirational. His work to help spread awareness about charitable causes and organizations (RAINN, Shane Helms, etc.) is a genuine testament to his character and deserves all the praise he has recently received and more.
On the wrestling side of things, I still think Mick has plenty to offer. Will it be one more big match against the Miz like he recently suggested in an interview, a repeat match with the Undertaker at a future WrestleMania, or some sort of vocal, authoritative type of role we've recently seen him be in most – his return to the WWE should be fun to follow.
The "Hardcore Legend" has his critics, that's for sure. But to be honest, that's the best part. Time and time again, Mick has silenced those naysayers with memorable promos, matches and feuds any chance he's been given.
Mick might put his body on the line more than he needs to in some sort of effort to prove himself, but it's not needed. It was never needed. He is a good "wrestler" and understands the game plenty without using the tactics that have given him the "Hardcore Legend" moniker he now claims. He'll need that more than ever now that he's returning. His body can't take that abuse anymore.
Luckily, he's already made a name for himself and has the support of millions of fans to get him through it.
Welcome back, Mick.
