The Cashbox: WWE Knows What It Needs to Do

That's the only way all this recent mess and confusion will make sense and potentially be saved. Cena should turn heel at Survivor Series and join up with Miz and Truth. Nash can join as well for the muscle. Screw Vince's notion that WWE shouldn't use factions anymore. Do it anyway.

John CenaI've compared the pros and cons of a Cena heel turn and one considerably outweighs the other to me. Tell me "why" it shouldn't happen. A lot of you seem to "know" it's NOT going to happen, but most of you fail to give any explanation to back it up. If you're Vince McMahon, argue the justification behind Cena not turning at this point. Maybe you'll say one or more of the following:

1. Merchandise sales – No problem, Punk has clearly proven he can pick up Cena's slack. Hell, Ryder can too. That proves WWE can manufacture revenue in that department with just the slightest bit of creativity. The nWo is additional proof that merchandise sales can be driven from a credible heel faction as well, if done right.

2. He's the face of the company – So what?  He can (and will) still be the face of the company as a bad guy. If you are wanting the good guy, American Hero version of a babyface as your public image, Punk can take over that role as well. Anyone working against Cena could step up and be "that" guy if given the chance. We all know Cena is doing shit to put over credible heels. Maybe he'll have better luck putting over babyfaces.

3. Rock vs Cena at WM needs to be top face vs top face – Yes, I've actually heard that one. It's legit too as I'm sure that's what Vince is thinking. Babyface Cena vs Babyface Rock will draw big, no question. But think about that match soaked in fresh buzz and emotion caused by a recent heel turn by Cena. It would only add to it.

The aforementioned idea is the only thing keeping me positive and hopeful right now regarding WWE's recent programming. The way I see it: a heel turn by Cena is Vince's main priority and as such, he's let a few things slip through the cracks in recent months. The mass confusion and chaos that's infested our tv's will all soon be forgotten. It was a means to an end. There's a greater good just around the corner!

Is it crazy? Maybe. Is it unlikely? Probably. Is it POSSIBLE? I honestly think so – now more than ever.

Otherwise, I have no explanation to defend WWE's recent shenanigans.
