John Cena and Jim Ross vs. Alberto Del Rio and Michael Cole/ What Happened:
Ross slaps down Cole, and we get Cena and Del Rio. Del Rio is in full control during the match on Cena, choking him with his boot in the corner. Del gets a few two counts. The match is slow and grinding out. Del Rio mocks Cena, showing a little attitude.
What I Liked:
The crowd was hot throughout the match. Del Rio looked sharp and on his game, beating down Cena. He has such a wide range of moves, including submission holds, german suplexes, and a flurry of kicks. Ross pinning Cole is the only way to go without having Cena look like Super Cena again, but I wonder if this was the best way to do it? They should have had Del Rio pin Cena, and quiet the critics who say he cannot beat Cena. Also, the match was not a typical Del Rio match, and showed his versatility and creativity.
What I Disliked:
Ross getting the submission hold, the last thing we basically see before Vengeance. It really annoyed me to a point where I wanted to turn it off. Ross is not in any match, and the Pay Per View needed a final confrontation. We got it with Cena attacking Del Rio until he could not answer the 10 count. It could have come off better, especially if Cena ended up losing, coming back to beat up Del Rio, and show that he has the upper hand in a different way. It would fit Del Rio better if he pulled a victory out.
