Ted DiBiase So Close!
One Step Up, Two Steps Back
Ted DiBiase has been given no favors since Legacy broke up in early 2010. Cody Rhodes, on the other hand, has gone on to surprising success as a permanent fixture on Smackdown. And just when you thought they were planning to use Rhode's momentum to help elevate DiBiase, they seemed to pull the plug just as quick.
Maybe DiBiase doesn't deserve it. I've always seen potential in him – more than Rhodes even…at first – but I have to admit that I'm not so sure anymore. His loss at Night of Champions and his subsequent absence from Smackdown doesn't indicate WWE believes in him at all.
I've written about Ted numerous times in the past and I always seem to get a mixed reaction from the IWC. So, I'm curious to if your opinions have changed at all. Email me what "you" think of Ted DiBiase and I'll follow up on this topic in next week's "Stars in Progress" column.
Do you think he has potential? Do you enjoy watching him work? Mic skills? What type of overall star quality does he have, in your mind? This all dependent on WWE giving him a chance, of course.
Looking back, the zero reaction he received from the live crowd when he attacked Cody Rhodes on Smackdown prior to their NOC match could have made WWE think twice about using him. It's unfortunate because why would anyone take him seriously right now. I remember the reaction he received the night he had to face Randy Orton on Raw as a member of Legacy. They teased a face turn and the crowd seemed to buy it then. A lot has changed since then and that boat has certainly sailed, but is there something better in Ted's future?
