Backstage interview Review:
R Truth and The Miz walk and talk backstage about Triple H being the COO, and how they will not let him off the hook just because they are in the tag team championship match. They came to the ring, as Miz and Truth used one another’s tag line as Miz is in action next.
Reaction:
I really am beginning to like these guys together. They have two different personalities, but they make it work with their similar comedic tastes. Very entertaining, and different than usual interviews, as they walked backstage, talked, and then came out with no music and exchanged their tag lines. Good work, as this quick segment gets a B.
Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz Review:
The Miz starts on the offense, as he punches down Kofi, as well as applying a head lock. Kofi reverses the Miz and uses a monkey flip to knock down the Miz. Both men go over the top rope and fall to the outside, as Bourne and Truth help their partners regroup. The Miz hits a backbreaker, but Kofi gets a two count. Kofi tries an offensive move, but the Miz hits a reverse neckbreaker onto Kofi. The Miz stalks Kofi, hits the Skull Crushing Finale for the victory.
Reaction:
It looks like Miz and Truth may win the tag titles in Buffalo, as this match proved that Air Boom may not be working for some people. I wish they give Air Boom more time on top, but the Miz controlled this entire match. I feel like it is going to be a quick change of titles. Kofi did not really get much of his offense in, and I feel like they rushed this match after the commercial break. Nonetheless, it built towards their match Sunday, so this segment gets a B
Theodore Long announces Ziggler vs. Riley vs. Swagger vs. Morrison. He also books Kelly Kelly vs. Vickie Guerrero for tonight.
Jerry Lawler and Sheamus vs. McGillicuddy and Otunga Review:
Otunga kicks down Lawler, as McGillicuddy punches Lawler. He hits a body slam, but Lawler reverses a move and here comes Sheamus. Sheamus hits a powerslam, as the crowd gets behind Sheamus. He hits his patented forearm chops to the chest of McGillicuddy, and connects with a running knee lift. He goes up top, and hits a flying shoulder block. Brogue kick on Otunga, and one on McGillicuddy. He sets up and connects with e Celtic Cross for the win.
Reaction:
We see the former tag champs get dominated by Sheamus. I did not mind it, but it makes them look like such a joke. Sheamus being shown on Raw and Smackdown each week shows me that there are big things in store for the face push of Sheamus. I do not understand why Christian was not seen at all here, as it could have further built him and Sheamus’ feud.
