Wade Barrett Gets Squashed By Cena
One Step Back Down On Smackdown

Of course, it makes total sense.  John Cena is heading into the match of his life as he challenges Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship.  He needs all the help he can get right now.  Wade Barrett, on the other hand, is on a show struggling for true stars and main event talent, so it's easier for him to go back to the top when Cena and the other Raw stars go back to their brand.  But when you have a live "super show" edition of Smackdown with "super Cena", you have to put over the already-established, number one star in the company.

ADR couldn't have interfered?  Barrett couldn't have gotten the win that way?  Cena is protected on every level, it helps Barrett when things go back to normal on Smackdown, and it helps Del Rio gain more heat.

I am NOT a "Cena basher" and completely understand why he is where he is with the company.  And as long as he gets the biggest reaction (positive or negative) of the night every time his music hits and he sells the most merchandise, he should stay there.  Sure, he's stale at times and sounds like a broken record anymore during his promos, he's still John Cena.  He's still the main attraction.  He still connects with the fans more than anyone else.  And he still makes Vince McMahon the most money out of anyone on the roster.

But the issue I do have with John Cena isn't even Cena's fault.  It's how the WWE desperately attempts to protect him at the cost of anything and "anyone".  Wade Barrett needs help right now.  He needs quality wins.  He needs someone above him on the ladder to take his hand and help him up a rung or two.  Cena can be one of those that does it.  He rarely does.  He damn sure didn't this week on Smackdown with Wade Barrett.

Wade Barrett is a classic example of someone who has been victimized by WWE Creative.  The dropped Nexus angle.  The move to Smackdown.  The stupidity of The Corre group that put over the "equality" between him and HEATH SLATER.

I honestly think Wade Barrett has it what it takes, but unfortunately, it's going to take the support of one person to make that happen.  Right now, it certainly doesn't seem like that person feels the way I do.

Maybe it's his accent.
