Title This: Friday Night Smackdown Reaction 8-27-11

Sin Cara vs. Heath Slater Review:

The mood lighting is back. Slater hits a scoop suplex on Cara. Cara hits a dropkick and sends Slater to the corner. Cara does a body dive into Slater, followed by a springboard headbutt on Salter. Cara dropkicks Slater to the outside, and hits his flying body splash, which connected nicely. Cara hits a rolling thunder type move, followed by a reverse moonsault.

Reaction:

A few missed spots by Cara, losing his footing briefly on the ropes. My one problem is Cara needs to find a better finisher. He continues to fly around the ring and really entertain the audience, but he does not have stability and enough power to win with heavyweights…yet. Cara needs to find a specific finisher, as I have counted three different moves he has used. Is it a big problem? No. But every star has one move to win matches, usually, and he needs to open that up to something more exciting that what Chris Jericho did, but couldn't win off of. Take away the mood lighting as well. This segment gets a B-, because it entertained and still showed that Slater is pretty solid in the ring with a different offensive attack.

Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase Review:

Finally DiBiase gets an important match.  DiBiase begins to pound away at Orton on the ground. DiBiase showed a lot of offense, but Orton controlled the pace of the match. Orton was beaten up early, but quickly flipped the switch, hitting vintage Orton DDT off the middle rope. He tries to an RKO, but Ted tries for Dream Streak and misses. Both men reverse a few moves, and as Orton ducks and hits an RKO. After the match, Rhodes hits DiBiase with Crossroads and puts a paper bag on his head.

Reaction:

Orton and DiBiase put on a good match for a few reasons. Both men are very similar inside the ring, calculating and working on the others' body and weak parts throughout. Rhodes after the match proves that they have bigger things for Cody than Ted. They really gave Ted some offense on the World Champion, but Orton really carried the match with the struggle, and then the "resurrection" from being beaten down to connect with an RKO. This segment gets an A-, because of a great match, a solid outing by both men, and the continued storyline build between Rhodes and DiBiase. Will Orton get involved with this? I am a bit confused, because it seems like Orton has Christian, Henry, and Rhodes on his radar.

Kelly Kelly vs. Tamina Review:

Kelly Kelly started off the match, but it was not long until Tamina got her offense in. Kelly Kelly, hit a few clotheslines, followed by whipping her into the corner and giving her a stink face. Kelly Kelly reverses a move, and hits Tamina with her finisher for the win.

Reaction:

An okay match. I am not high on the work of Tamina, as I feel she is decent in the ring, but nothing sticks out besides her splash off the top rope, and she rarely uses it because it is her finisher. Kelly Kelly and Tamina seemed to be off a half step, a few times not knowing what move was next, or where to be in the ring. You could tell. I really wish they gave these Divas matches to Beth or Natalya, and not have to see Tamina, Alicia, and some of the other Divas who are out of place currently. This segment gets a C-.
