Daniel Bryan vs. Drew McIntyre Review:
Drew starts off the match beating down Mr. Money in the Bank. McIntyre gets him in a wrist lock and smacks away at Bryans' back. Bryan answers with a dropkick and follows up with kicks to the back of McIntyre. Drew tries to escape, heading to the outside until he hits a punch and a shoulder block to gain the advantage. Bryan reverses McIntyre with a leg lock. Bryan gets caught and launched into the turnbuckle. Drew gets a two count, and really gains the upper hand in the match. Bryan continues to struggle, as McIntyre applies an altered crossface. Bryan fights out of it, rolls up Drew for two. McIntyre then hits an elbow to Bryan. We see the continued offense of McIntyre, as Bryan has rarely gotten much offense besides a few kicks and submission holds. Bryan gets hit with a superplex from the top rope, and Drew gets another two count. Bryan counters, locks the guillotine and McIntyre taps out.
Reaction:
We see Drew dominating all match until Bryan locks in the submission hold. Besides two minutes in the end, McIntyre controlled throughout, which, in my opinion, made Bryan look weak. I want to see Bryan control a match, and not consistently be the underdog because he is smaller. Bryan is Mr. Money in the Bank, so he should more often than not be in control of most matches. I do not want him to be Cena, where he continually gets beaten down until the last minute of the match. This segment gets a B, because we did see how good both men work together, and we were able to see McIntyre's ability, and realize how much he is being wasted. Good match between two young stars to main event Superstars.
Overall:
A solid show, excluding Clay. They brought some of their bigger names, such as Sheamus and Bryan, to the show. We saw Barrett a week ago, and this week we were treated to three solid matches. I was happy to not see a Divas match, but upset that Brodus Clay had ANOTHER squash match. I am alright with having Sheamus and Bryan on here, as long as they continue to be used to a high capacity on Smackdown. I really feel these two guys are primed for main event status once again in the near future, and could easily because the second and third most complete superstars on Smackdown. WWE Superstars this week, with it's star power and Gabriel excitement, gets a B-.
