Evan Bourne/Kofi Kingston vs. David Otunga and Michael McGillicuddy for the WWE Tag Team Championship Review:
Kofi enters and gets a quick rollup, but McGillicuddy stomps away. Kofi hits a high flying body splash off the top rope. Otunga pulls Mc outside and throws Kofi to the ground. Otunga powers over Kofi, hitting a body slam. McGillicuddy hits a drop kick as Otunga holds up Kofi. Headlocks and submission moves from Mc, until Kofi hits a hurricanranna to tag in Bourne. He hits a few high kicks to the head and chest of Otunga. Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise and Bourne hits Air Bourne for the win, and new tag champs are crowned!
Reaction:
A much needed title change here, as We quickly got bored of Otunga and McGillicuddy. Not a fantastic match, but Kofi and Bourne are exciting. They remind me of Kendrick and London, two similar superstars together who are thrown in a team to win. I do like the change, even though I am never a proponent of throwing single stars together. This works, and we may have an exciting tag match at Night of Champions. This segment gets a B-, just because the match seemed a half step off from Otunga and McGillicuddy. I gave them a chance, but they do not work well together because neither stands out.
Backstage Segment Review:
Kofi and Bourne celebrate backstage. Johnny Ace tells Triple H that Kevin Nash has been in a car accident, which prompts Triple H to leave.
In Ring Segment Review:
Santino comes out, and gets attacked by The Miz and R Truth. They get on the microphone and talk about a conspiracy from Triple H. Miz talks about he was the main event of Wrestlemania, how he beat Cena, and now he talks about how he is not being respected. They make fun of Canadians, and Miz is sick of seeing useless people being seen on TV. Miz says they are going to take opportunities.
Reaction:
Okay, obviously the main picture is crowded, so they gripe about not getting an opportunity and being underutilized on Raw. I agree with the Miz's complaints, but Truth has not deserved it. I do not like these two together, because options are limited for them. What do they do, feud with Kofi and Bourne? That is a huge step backwards for both, and it just does not work to put them together. I could not dislike this more, because they personalities do not mesh, and another tag team thrown together will not make them any more useful. This segment gets a D. I would rather see them wrestle than attack Marella, or attack a useless superstar. It is confusing and forced to the fans.
