As far as the rest of the show is concerned, it was refreshing to see a more seriously focused edition of Raw as opposed to the usual variety show that we seem to be getting recently. I have no problem with the occasional comedy bit or vignette, they’re fun and often times a staple of pro wrestling. However, when a show loses all of it’s intensity and momentum because the comedy routines become dominant and mostly unfunny, then the show suffers as a whole.
I said last week that I feel like WWE needs to decide what they’re doing with Legacy, and last night it seems as if things are becoming more clear. The obvious tension amongst Legacy will most likely end up in some sort of break down of the group, and to me I think the most interesting way to go would be to have Orton and Rhodes ultimately turn on DiBiase. It has been rumored now for several weeks that Orton vs DiBiase is being discussed in WWE, and it seems as if those seeds have been planted in the past couple of weeks. Last night’s angle with Legacy putting Orton to the test was a great move. It gave Rhodes and DiBiase a little "street cred," and they came off as equals to Randy Orton as opposed to his minions.
MVP finally got some kind of respect on Raw last night, and that was another great moment. The four way bout was fun, and while it’s unknown whether or not MVP will actually get some kind of push from his win last night of course has yet to be seen, but at least WWE is moving in the right direction with MVP as a challenger to The Miz’ US Title.
