A LITTLE BIT OF WRASSLIN
Another aspect to this January in June feel in WWE-
We are getting a good amount of wrestling from some very athletic guys. Think about the 4 way match on RAW 2 weeks ago between Ryder, Truth, Miz, and Morrison. Awesome match, awesome spots. Surprise finish with Miz winning the US title from Truth just 6 days prior to a PPV.
Then the Fatal 4 Way PPV we get a solid match between McIntyre and Kofi. One of the best matches in both careers between Jericho and Bourne.
They follow it up the next night on this past weeks RAW, with Bourne and Jericho in another really good match with a really well done finish of Jericho using his knees to block the shooting star press as Bourne came down and then Jericho finished him. Simple but logical.
Kane being relevant again, gotta love it. I think we are all waiting for him to be revealed as the attacker and have one more battle with his brother, but I haven’t talked to many people who will have any problem with that. You know that its a matter of weeks until we begin to get the light flickering, casked burning symbolic special effects that cue an attention grabbing return from the deadman.
Now what comes up will go down. That is just life and the ‘wrasslin’ business is no exception. But the fact we are getting some good entertainment in what is usually lackluster months is great. If the WWE can keep this going strong to SummerSlam….
Then not to long after, I believe September 11th is the magical day that from that point and beyond, in theory could bring us the return of Bryan Danielson to the WWE if both sides want it to happen. That is a whole other article of how over he will be and in what way he makes his return.
A FEW RANDOM THOUGHTS THAT I’VE HAD….
-TNA Wrestling constantly having surprises and changes that are going to shake up the wrestling world according to Dixie Carter or The Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team going through almost 2 straight decades of losing seasons…..who gets deemed more pathetic by those who care?
-I really enjoy the matches I have been catching up on recently on Delirious in ROH. Check out him amongst many others over there.
-Nice to see the Big Show in matches where he is doing what he should be doing, looking strong and “swatting” his big hand at guys knocking them straight to the mat. Enjoyed several minutes of him in the WHC fatal 4 way match last Sunday. The guy doesn’t have to win in that kind of 25% chance to win match, but don’t make him look as weak as he has in past years. He has got a lot of talent as a comedic face that can kick some ass.
-Alex Riley is my pick to win NXT season 2.
-Said it all week, I came to the conclusion that Nikki Bella is my favorite Bella twin!
-The Long Island Iced-Z is growing on me. The guy can work the mic and if he came up with that annoying catch phrase and outfit all on his own…..big kudos to his creativity for annoyance that draws good heat.
-How about the champions on Smackdown….Rey Mysterio who is Mexican as the WHC. Kofi who is from Ghana but portrayed as Jamaican as the IC champ and LayCool, one girl who is English and another who is a former substitute teacher banging The Undertaker is women’s champs. Great international variety!!
-Martha Hart?? Really??
