EXCLUSIVE: A Complete Breakdown Of WWE SummerSlam

The Nexus vs Team WWE

Daniel Bryan returning was great wasn’t it? I’m not a total mark for Bryan, but I like what he brings to the table and his return was certainly well received by me. As elimination tag matches go I thought this was rather good. The formalities of getting shot of Young, Tarver, Morrison and Truth were well executed, the numbers needed to be trimmed before we got to the real action. This part really made Skip Sheffield look like a million dollars though.

Bret Hart did a much better job in this match than I ever game him credit for. But this doesn’t change the fact that he simply isn’t a draw any more. I respect everything he bought to the business in the nineties, but an old man that can’t take any bumps should be kept well away from the ring. His DQ was the most logical way to end his participation in this match, and hopefully, from an in ring perspective, in this business too – rant over.

The Edge/Jericho dissension was inevitable, and served as a way to even up the numbers. It left the perfect final 4 in my eyes. Cena and Bryan (naturally) and Barrett and Gabriel (A Daniel Bryan mark I am not, but I think Justin Gabriel is awesome – a natural in ring Nexus number 2). The Miz coming out and hitting Bryan with the briefcase sets up a rather exiting prospect of a feud with Daniel Bryan for the US title, and did well to place the odds thoroughly against a beaten up Cena.

But then he found a second wind. I’m sure you don’t need another SuperCena tirade (just know I’m thinking it), but it was a depressing way to end this match. The Nexus losing is a more unorthodox route to go down than them winning, but a Cena revival really did nothing for me. It was a low end to a poor PPV across the board.
