It’s Such A Fine Line Between Stupid And Clever

ABOUT MYSELF…

I’d like to dispel a few popular perceptions about me that have been floated by idiots on various rasslin’ message boards.

I am NOT desperate to work in wrestling again. NO CHANCE. I don’t want that travel schedule, not at 49. I travel 15 minutes to and from work. Furthermore, no wrestling company could afford me. I’m a very highly-rated radio host, a phenom in a struggling medium. I MAKE BIG CASH.

More than YOU, anyway.

There’s also this perception that I’m a pariah of sorts. Not in radio. My guests include Mario Lemieux, Ben Roethlisberger, Sidney Crosby, Troy Polamalu…the list is ENDLESS. As for wrestling, I’m not going to detail who my friends are. That’s not your business. But Ric Flair, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and Disco Inferno (remember him?) are frequent guests on my show. When WWE visits Pittsburgh, they often provide a guest and there’s never any friction. (C.M. Punk was a GREAT guest, by the way. Intelligent WAY beyond wrestling.)

Why do I often write about TNA even though it SUCKS? First off, WWE also SUCKS. But I’ve always been more interested in the underdog promotion. History shows business is healthiest when the underdog promotion is successful enough to challenge the overlord. That’s clearly not the case currently.

I certainly don’t NEED to write about wrestling. I barely have the time. But I’ve always had an affinity for the biz. Not enough qualified journalists and writers cover it, and with all due respect to legit peers like Dave Meltzer and Bruce Mitchell, I’m probably the best pure wordsmith that’s ever done this.

Even if I wanted to work in wrestling again, it would NEVER happen. Last thing WWE or TNA wants around is someone who knows more than they do and isn’t afraid to say it.
