Not only has Sting entertained pro wrestling fans with his incredible in-ring performance and amazing character work over the years, but he has also lent his talents to several movies and television shows.
At the height of his popularity, the Dark Vigilante occasionally dabbled in the glitzy world of showbiz starring in various projects, some of which have now become cult favorites.
Here are some of Sting’s best acting roles.
Ready to Rumble (2000)
Any pro wrestling fan with the slightest memory of WCW in 2000 may be able to recall the Box Officer disaster that was Ready to Rumble. Produced by Ted Turner’s promotion as a last-ditch effort to save themselves from folding, Ready to Rumble featured appearances from some of the biggest company draws such as Sting and Goldberg.
Both men had less screen time than the big baddie Diamond Dallas Page, the main antagonist in Ready to Rumble. Their appearances nonetheless were meant to help Oliver Platt’s Jimmy King character go over DDP in the final act of the film.
Ready to Rumble remains Sting’s most memorable movie performance to date. Time has been much kinder to the film, as fans treat it more of a cult favorite now.
Shutterspeed (2000)
Another Turner production, Shutterspeed had Sting play the role of Riley Davis, a renegade Los Angeles cop “who is forced to seek the help of his estranged brother” to free his model fiancée and a photographer friend from a bunch of kidnappers.
Shutterspeed only managed to score 4.1 on IMDB.
Thunder in Paradise (1995)
One of Sting’s first television roles came in the Hulk Hogan-starrer Thunder in Paradise. The mid-nineties show saw the Hulkster play R.J. “Hurricane” Spencer, a NAVY SEAL-turned-gun-for-hire alongside his business partner Bru (Chris Lemmon).
Sting had a recurring role on the show as Spencer’s former ally Adam “Hammerhead” McCall, who’s gone rogue and wants to eliminate the hero. Good luck with that!
Thunder in Paradise only lasted one season, but it did give fans their first taste of the epic rivalry between Sting and Hogan.

Walker, Texas Ranger (2000)
Sting was a fan favorite in WCW, but his popularity didn’t sway the producers of Walker, Texas Ranger from casting him as an evil biker in the Chunk Norris-starring television show.
Stinger guest-starred as the evil Grangus in Season 9, Episode 19 of Texas Ranger. He had a really cool fight sequence with Norris’ Walker during the climax of the show, even planting him neck-first with his signature Scorpion Death Drop.
How cool is that!
The Nightmare Room (2001)
This fantasy horror series is based on the books by R.L. Stine. Sting appears as Steve ‘Sting’ Borden in the credits.
Sting makes a cameo in Season 1, Episode 4, titled “Tangled Web.” He chases down the episode’s main character Josh (Justin Berfied) through the school’s hallways and traps him in a room.
