Adam Cole always shines when the lights are brightest. He has always been a big-match player and he was expected to deliver big when opening NXT in a title match against Matt Riddle. As usual, he delivered in what turned out to be a fantastic match. While we have no doubt that Matt Riddle will have more opportunities at the title, it’s Cole’s time right now.
He faces two big challenges ahead and while he may have been overshadowed by the returns of Finn Balor and Tommaso Ciampa, we certainly took notice of how good he was.
