When WWE presents the brand as two different products altogether, it’s the best possible thing. Even though they both belong under the same umbrella, giving them two different identities helps create a divide and distinction. Fans won’t watch SmackDown and just feel as though it’s an extended version of RAW. It’s a show of it’s own.
Moreover, it helps WWE give a sense of “competition” between the two brands, where each roster strives to make the brand they are a part of much better.
