Rusev and Lana have understandably been in a creatively frustrating place in the last couple of years. It must not have felt very good to Rusev when he picked up momentum organically, only for WWE to never capitalize on it at all. Moreover, the random split with Aiden English, the random United States title reign and the brief Shinsuke Nakamura alliance has led to the couple calling for time off.
There have been rumors over what their contract status is, but those two could definitely do with a change in environment – going to a place where there won’t be as much creative frustration.
