#3.) The Higher Power
The Higher Power storyline was easily one of the most intriguing ones of the Attitude Era. With Steve Austin as the natural lead character, it also involved The Corporation and The Ministry – two very important factions at the time. There were all sorts of rumors as to who the higher power would be revealed as, with the original plan reportedly being a toss-up between Jake Roberts and Christopher Daniels (you read that right).
Ultimately, the higher power ended up being Vince McMahon himself, who declared “It was me Austin! It was me all along!”. While it did enhance his villainous status, it was a very poor payoff to an exciting storyline.
