The main event is set to feature Chris Jericho against Adam Hangman Page for the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Jericho seems like the easy pick, which is why many believe that Hangman Page is the right option to become World Champion. However, in this case, the obvious pick is probably what’s best for business.
The reality is that Jericho is still a household name with decades of experience and accolades to back it up. For AEW, it’s all about starting their legacy right and seeing Chris Jericho as the inaugural World Champion will always be better than seeing Hangman Page. This isn’t disrespect to Page because we still believe that he’s a future World Champion, but he just isn’t ready for that big spot just yet.
