Drew McIntyre has had a frustrating few months in the sense that he’s been occasionally thrust into good positions only to not have a prominent role to follow up with. SummerSlam was an example of it where he simply wasn’t on the card for reasons unknown. Luckily, McIntyre has been protected in such a way that he can start rising to the top at any given occasion.
It feels as though WWE is just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger on him and King of the Ring may not be a bad place to start. Having a Scottish heritage, McIntyre would fit perfectly into the role and it would add a great new element to his character, similar to the “King Booker” character with Booker-T back in 2006.
