#2.) There are more deserving superstars to dethrone Kofi Kingston
As mentioned, every run has to come to an end at some point. Kingston’s dream run is no exception to this. However, the fact of the matter is that there are far more deserving superstars on the SmackDown roster alone who could benefit from dethroning Kofi Kingston. Having Shane McMahon be the one to do it would take a major spot and opportunity away from the full-time superstars.
It doesn’t make sense for a non-wrestler to win the title.
#1.) Shane McMahon is not a WWE Championship-caliber performer
Now we understand that WWE putting the World Championship on an undeserving superstar is nothing new. It was only a couple of years ago when Jinder Mahal made the abrupt jump from jobber to main eventer in one night. However, even in the case of Mahal, it can be argued that had WWE properly built him up over the course of 2-3 years, he could have reached the level that they wanted him to.
With Shane McMahon, that can’t even be an excuse. He’s simply nowhere close to being on the top performers’ level and he isn’t WWE Championship material.
