While we can’t really say who exactly the storyline will benefit, it’s likely that Shane McMahon’s rise in power again on-screen has been done to initiate a long-term storyline. Usually, when a McMahon figure gets pushed as heavily, it basically means that there is something big planned.
Whether it’s for SummerSlam, Survivor Series or even WrestleMania 36, WWE may want to use Shane McMahon as the central heel figure in all of it. One positive thing about this is that it would atleast mean that WWE is committed to one long-term storyline – something that has been lacking for the past few years.
