Fastlane 2019 marked a closing of the last major stop on the road to WrestleMania, and what a build its been so far. While the Fastlane card may not have seen particularly stacked at first, there’s no question that the PPV delivered. WWE did away with a few bad habits that they usually did, such as an excessively long PPV and overbooking and overcomplicating of stories.
Everything was fairly straightforward and the path to WrestleMania 35 seems clearer than ever. With a few matches now official, several matches set to be confirmed and more, there’s no doubt that WWE did a lot more good than bad at Fastlane. A great PPV from start to finish, here’s what WWE did right as we reach the conclusion of the road to WrestleMania!
#5.) The right people won
We can’t even begin to emphasize on how important this was for WWE at Fastlane, or for any Pay-Per-View in general. There have been multiple times where WWE chose the wrong superstars to go over, but in this case, that did not happen at all. For each match on the card, the right superstar ended up going over, giving fans a sense of happiness as the show ended.
There have been multiple occasions where it felt like WWE constantly had the wrong people winning, but with this being the final major stop on the road to WrestleMania, the company knew how pivotal it was for their momentum to have the right people go over. Credit where it’s due.
