#1.) ECW World Title Match – December To Dismember 2006
It’s time to address the elephant in the room. December to Dismember often considered the single worst PPV in WWE history. On paper, the main event Elimination Chamber match looked good. In execution, it completely backfired. This was because of a major difference between Paul Heyman (creative head of WWE’s ECW) and Vince McMahon.
Heyman felt that CM Punk was hot and should have won the title, as fans would have loved it. McMahon was dead set against the idea, wanting to push Bobby Lashley as ECW’s Superman. The idea pitched by Heyman was to have Punk eliminate Big Show right off the bat, an idea that Big Show himself was reportedly behind, so he could put over a new star like Punk.
However, a clash of egos led to a big change, and Punk was eliminated first and the match only went downhill from there. Fans weren’t crazy about Lashley winning either.
