Apollo Crews might be one of the most underrated superstars in WWE today. The biggest criticism that he’s gotten is the fact that he’s not a good talker and doesn’t have a convincing character. While it does hold true, he’s got such an immense amount of potential and he hasn’t even realized half of it yet.
When he debuted in NXT, he was clearly pushed and viewed as a future top star, even earning an NXT title shot early on. Triple H most definitely had big plans for him, but he was well aware that with Apollo’s great physique, it was only a matter of time before he would get the call-up to the main roster.
It’s a shame that he got called up so early because he was just beginning to find his stride in NXT. During his feud with Baron Corbin, he began to display a more aggressive side to himself and chances are that if he stayed, he would have been pushed more and given time to develop a stronger character (see: Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas).
Either way, Apollo Crews should be a main event superstar, whether it’s RAW or SmackDown. Here’s why.
