CM Punk and Triple H were in a heated feud heading into Night Of Champions 2011 and their promos were basically two people spitting fire back and forth. CM Punk himself has admitted in the past over disliking Triple H in real life and vice versa. The fact that they had such a rocky relationship in real life made it all the more interesting.
They went back and forth about opportunities and being held back and their argument got so heated that CM Punk seemingly broke the fourth wall, uttering the line “This isn’t CM Punk talking to Triple H, this is Phil Brooks talking to Paul Levesque”. Fans gasped at the moment and they felt like things had gotten very real.
The storyline was incredible in that it blurred the lines between reality and fiction. It just so happened that during their match, the wrong person won.
