CM Punk beat Jeff Hardy in a match that saw Hardy forcefully leave WWE. The following week, fans were surprised to hear Hardy’s music hit and it appeared like he was back, with fans going absolutely crazy. Unfortunately for them, as he entered the ring, they realized that it was just CM Punk dressed as Hardy, mocking him.
He gained nuclear heat and proceeded to rip the crowd, comparing them to a drug addict waiting for his fix. He was able to manipulate and control the crowd brilliantly and at that moment, he seemed to be the most hated man in all of wrestling. But if you really look into his promo and try to understand the words he’s saying, there’s a lot of truth to it. Edge once said that the best heel promos are those where the person delivering it believes what they’re saying. And Punk certainly believed a lot of what he said.
