Would Sting Have Been WWE Champion?
Legendary WCW Champion Sting had his one-and-only WWE Championship opportunity against Seth Rollins at the 2015 Night Of Champions pay-per-view. Unfortunately, this also became the Stinger’s final match as he suffered a career-ending injury as a result of a Buckle Bomb. Fans often wonder if “The Icon” would’ve been crowned WWE Champion if not for that emergency situation. Dave Meltzer is of the belief that the ending, albeit tragic, didn’t disrupt plans:
