Kurt Angle wants CM Punk back in the WWE, the Monday Night Raw general manage revealed this weekend during a Facebook Q&A session. “I hope he comes back,” Angle stated. “I think his MMA career is over. He needs to go back to what he does best.”
The Olympic gold medalist recently returned home to WWE himself, joining the promotion’s Hall of Fame after an 11-year absence. During that time Angle competed primarily for Impact Wrestling (formerly TNA Wrestling), adding another six world title reigns to his decorated resume and facing off against the likes of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Sting. Punk left wrestling in early 2014 without so much as a two weeks notice, but not before cementing himself as the longest reigning WWE Champion since 1988.
“Never say never,” as the old saying goes. But it doesn’t look good… Right now it would appear that the self-proclaimed “Voice of the Voiceless” is content relaxing at home with his wife, former WWE Superstar AJ Lee, and occasionally popping back up to discuss his favorite Chicago sports teams.
