The Top 10 Best Cage Matches of All-Time

Steel Cage. The very name implies something brutal. No wonder these matches are used as a perfect backstage for feuding. Steel Cage is the big deal. Storylines are twisted and turned, broken and bent in the cage. The architecture of this kind of stage restricts moves somewhat, but for some reason, it makes the match quite bloody. From Steel Cage evolved Hell in a Cell and Elimination Chamber. So let’s take a look at the best steel cage matches of all-time.

10. Ultimate Warrior vs Rick Rude (SummerSlam 1990)

Sadly, the Ultimate Warrior is no longer among us. This match was one of the best of his career. It’s also one of the shorter bouts in the history of Cage, lasting for only 10 minutes or so. Fans didn’t seem to mind, as Ultimate Warrior was at the peak of his career, and it was his third World Title defense.

While Warrior was built as a dominant champion, he was the face, the hero. No one really believed that Rude would be written in as a winner of this one, but the match was so perfectly executed, that there were moments when it really seemed that Rick had a fighting chance.
