You Can’t Blame Brock Lesnar
A Street Fight between Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose was forgettable. Sadly enough, this was the biggest disappointment for me. I cannot blame Brock Lesnar for a second. His match with CM Punk a few years ago was great and the size differential was not really an issue. WWE has a guy that the crowd loves, but his matches are less to be desired for. I have said this needed to be Dean’s coming out party, but he will easily be forgotten from WrestleMania.
Who’s fault is it? I blame the creative for NOT giving Bray Wyatt an opportunity against Brock Lesnar. The build was good between Dean and Brock, but not great. The match had a few spots that were nice, but overall lacked intensity and dramatic elements that are needed in a Brock Lesnar match. This guy is one of your most talented stars, most popular and easily a huge draw. History tells us that. It was the wrong opponent at the absolute wrong time. I wanted the best for Ambrose, but his booking and his execution did nobody favors. We still wait for his “breaking out” moment, but it is not like he has not had chances.
Baron Corbin Marks His Territory
It is easy to see where Baron Corbin goes from here. He is in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and eliminates Kane. WWE has to be careful with Corbin, though. He is a natural heel, someone that EVERYONE boos in NXT and will likely boo on the main roster. If you book him against Kane or Big Show, fans will start to cheer him and then the danger of how he is booked arises. Booking him against Dolph hurts Ziggler, but does draw heat from the crowd. I would personally let him roll through some people for a few months and not let him speak much. Develop his persona but keeping quiet and keeping the crowd wondering what he is all about. This could be good, but be careful. He is marketable and is a solid performer with a bright future.
