A New Twist in the Hulk Hogan vs Gawker Trial
As noted, the Hulk Hogan vs Gawker trial will officially commence on March 7th, with opening statements from both sides taking place. The jury has already been selected in the case, and it consists of 6 women and 3 men.
According to PWInsider.com, a new twist in the case was announced Friday night, which is that Todd “Bubba the Love Sponge” Clem is refusing to testify in the civil trial.
Clem’s attorney announced that Clem could be brought in by Gawker to testify, but he will likely invoke the Fifth Amendment, which is the right to remain silent. While no reason was officially offered as to why Clem is refusing to testify, it has been implied that he might have perjured himself with previous comments he made, so he does not want to further any potential perjury situations.
Earlier this week it was revealed that Hogan settled with Clem for $5,000 regarding the existence of the tapes. Clem also has to assist Hogan going forward with fallout from the trial.
Sara Lee Wrestles Her First NXT Singles Match
Aside from the short match she wrestled against Alicia Fox during the Tough Enough finale, Sara Lee wrestled her first singles match at the WWE NXT live event in Citrus Spring, FL last night.
Lee lost to Aliyah in the match, and worked as a babyface. Live reports indicated that while Lee looked better than she did on the Tough Enough finale, she still has a lot of work to do.
