Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “League of Nations Must Develop A Face”

A New Side of Neville?

smackdownTyler Breeze vs. Neville was the first match of the night and was really good. If you have seen their matches in NXT before, it was very similar. Fast and energetic offense sprinkled in with some old submission. I really like Tyler and Summer together, but the big question is what can WWE do with Neville?

Well, there may be some light shed on this issue as The Miz talks with Neville backstage. He compares Neville to what The Miz did for Daniel Bryan, helping him have charisma and being in the main event of WrestleMania XXX. Neville looks confused and Miz hands him his business card and a signed copy of his Christmas DVD.

I am actually intrigued to see where this can go. There are two ways: one is that Neville gets a big rub and finally grabs the attention of the fans outside of his stellar ring work or he can pull an Alex Riley and float in obscurity for a while. I lean more towards the former because Neville is SO talented in the ring to ignore it. Can he become Daniel Bryan 2.0? Absolutely not, but let’s not throw away a potential heel turn for some time and then back to being a super over face. They have nothing else better to try for him right now. I am very optimistic about this potential pairing. It could really benefit both men.

More Dysfunction for Becky and Charlotte

Becky Lynch and Charlotte continue their split as being friends. Becky Lynch and Brie Bella work a pretty smooth match and Becky seems to be in control. She applies a submission move onto Brie. Charlotte rushed to the ring and beats down Brie, causing a disqualification. Becky and Charlotte argue until they leave in anger.

Monday was the first step in Charlotte being completely by herself. When you look at these women in the division, there is no reason why Charlotte isn’t a heel. She can be really good, with her size and stature. Also, with her background and having “daddy” helping her out, Charlotte can be the second dirtiest player in the game. I can see them pushing her this way much sooner and that’s a good call. Make her the heel champion heading into 2016. It benefits the smaller women in the division be more of the “underdog.” Everyone loves an underdog. Everyone wants to hate Charlotte.
