@JoshIsenberg4 Could the mid-card era be salvaged with solid storylines/better matches or is a new superstar the only hope? #WZMailbag

I think WWE has one of the deepest rosters in many years because of the excellent “wrestlers” they have. There is where the problem starts. Some of the best mid-card champions were guys who were better characters than wrestlers. Although I love guys like Dolph Ziggler, Tyler Breeze and King Barrett, they are all very simplistic characters. There is nothing unique about their persona that sticks on to make more intriguing storylines. You also limit your character development when all of these guys are thrown into a pool of mediocrity, a pool of .500 win percentage. When you lose as many as you win, how can characters really stick out? Maybe, this is another reason why there are not MAIN EVENT talent each week being built from scratch. Fans see these guys lose too often.
I do think new talent COULD help, but if they are booked a certain way. Who? Finn Balor could have great success in this division. Apollo Crews could have success. Will the storylines be better? With Finn, yes. Apollo? No. Creativity is not developing where it needs to right now.
