Last Stop Between Wyatt Family and Brothers of Destruction
The Undertaker and Kane kick off WWE Raw. With druids surrounding the ring, they talk about being the face of darkness and evil, doing it for 25 years. They target Bray Wyatt and talk about how their evil is more powerful and dark. This prompts Bray and his members to come out. Wyatt cuts a promo on both men, specifically talking about how 25 years is long enough.
Bray has the druids in sheep masks and they try to attack. Undertaker and Kane take care of them and then Bray stops his men from attacking. He says they will wait until Sunday.
This was not a bad way to kick off the show. I really do think that the Wyatt Family should have appeared in the druid outfits, but the sheep masks were a decent touch. Once again, I do think WWE needed to go with a 4-on-4 and make someone look that much better with legends and Wyatt Family members. Anyways, the build has been really good but it could have been much better. Do I care who wins on Sunday? Yes. Do I think it needs to be Wyatt Family? Yes.
Neville vs. Kevin Owens
The first of four quarterfinal matches are between two former NXT Champions. Owens locks up Neville early and slows down the pace. Hurricanranna from Neville keeps Owens off balance. He kicks him in the face and goes up topo, but Owens rolls to the outside. Neville hits a beautiful moonsault and throws Owens back into the ring. Owens capitalized and sent Neville into the barricade a few times. Neville hits a kick and then a few punches, but both men exchange blows.
Kevin Owens hits a big superkick to send Neville to the outside. Owens hits a knee and a running senton for two. A reversal and a snap suplex sets up Owens to get hit with a beautiful corkscrew from the top. Neville reverses a move and hits a reverse frankensteiner, which was spectacular. Owens moves out of the way from a Red Arrow and hits the pop-up powerbomb for the win.
Neville could be the best pure athlete in the WWE and his matches are just spectacular to watch. He does so much in the air, but he is strong and his timing is fantastic. His only weakness is his gimmick. I can’t begin to explain how entertained I was by this match, It was pure heel finish, as Owens barely escapes. A fantastic match and helps Neville stay relevant by getting so close and Owens to move on. Can we call KO WWE Champion?
