– Cost-cutting measures in TNA are still continuing as Jerry Jarrett is attempting to extend the amount of time the Carter family is giving the promotion. In addition to changing the Impact! tapings from every week to every two weeks, the number of talent being brought back for each TV taping has been cut back as well.
For example, 3 Live Kru (BG James, Ron “The Truth” Killings & Konnan) were not flown in for the tapings on Tuesday night in Orlando including a few others. Many corners are currently being cut and in doing so the entire crew has been scaled down quite a bit. From what is known at this time, wrestlers who work two matches at one taping will receive the same pay as they would if they worked two matches over the course of two weeks. However, the downside of this new bi-weekly schedule is that fewer talent will be brought in leaving them with less pay.
As far as the future of the company goes, many TNA wrestlers are not worried as they feel any reports making the rounds on the internet are nothing but rumor and speculation at this point. The general opinion among many on the other hand is that the talent most likely feel this way because they haven’t been told anything that would alarm them. It should be noted that there is no monthly PPV event scheduled beyond February. So, if buyrates don’t increase, if the weekly Impact! show on Fox Sports Net doesn’t get a better timeslot or change networks, or if Jerry Jarrett isn’t able to find a new investor or buyer, there are strong indications that Panda Energy would shut down the company.
