As we noted yesterday, Frankie Kazarian and Big Vito were backstage at SmackDown!. Kazarian has signed a WWE deal and will start on SmackDown! in the next few weeks. Vito was given a tryout with WWE and worked during the afternoon hours but did not work in front of the live crowd. He has not signed a WWE deal and was only being looked at.
Interestingly enough, Kurt Angle, JBL, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels all had lunch together in the catering room prior to the show.
The Undertaker did not appear on SmackDown! last night but did work a dark match following the show.
The Paul London/Funaki vs. Chavo/Akio match taped for Velocity is one to go out of your way to see. The four guys worked extremely hard and the match was well booked. If you’ve got time, check it out.
It appears as though WWE is pushing Velocity as a show based around cruiserweights.
ECWA wrestlers Scotty Charisma, Rob Eckos, Mike Kruel, John Walters, Fred Sampson and Arch Kincaid took part in the WWE Smackdown event on 3/1 in Albany, NY. Scotty Charisma (Scott Wright), who is the ECWA Champion, was part of the Kurt Angle Invitational Challenge.
