I attended last night’s RAW, and have just seen a tape of it, and thought I’d send in a couple of notes from the show (and after the show). I won’t bother writing a full report as I see you already have many up on the site.
During the Lita interview, WWE dubbed out the boos and the “You’re a Sl*t” chants, although many fans sitting in front of me were astounded as to why everybody was booing her. I’d say around 50% of the building knew why the fans were chanting. Just shows how much the internet does affect wrestling nowadays.
As I was leaving the arena, there was somewhat of a scuffle between two drunk fans, the arena security broke it up quickly, and did not call the police as they had known the two had a little bit too much to drink, and just sent them on their way with the friends.
When I returned to the hotel, I caught the end of the incident between the WWE workers and the MMA fans. I did not catch the whole thing, but as I was entering the lobby I heard a group of fans yelling “P*ssy” and other remarks towards the Workers, because of course wrestling’s “fake.” In my eye’s view I could see Jack Doan, Arn Anderson (I think), Val Venis and Shelton Benjamin being targeted, a bunch of people in front of me moved into my view and the group was watching the two groups. My friend told me that the wrestlers (he couldn’t tell me who, because he’s not an avid WWE viewer) took the fans down to the floor, in a way to protect themselves not to attack the fans. The hotel security then moved in and the fans (who the wrestlers had let go off by this point) went straight back after the wrestlers, and the wrestlers and staff escorted them out of the lobby, and I believe out of the hotel. The wrestlers were then protected by security for the rest of the time they were in the lobby/bar, which was only about 30 minutes after this incident had occurred.
