Another Major ECW PPV Update Including Huge Problems

As we noted earlier, Vince McMahon has talked with Mick Foley about a possible return at the ECW PPV for a Cactus Jack style match. Several sources have told us that Foley is trying to tie his ECW run with his current WWE contract, including a possible full-time return to the company. The problem right now is that Foley has told Vince that he wants complete creative control over his storyline. Vince has always been reluctant to give anyone complete control over their character and this is where the standoff begins.

From what we’ve been told, Paul Heyman is the main guy behind creative for the PPV. Several scripts done by Heyman for the PPV have already been submitted to the writing team. Tommy Dreamer is in charge of contacting all of the talent scheduled to appear. Jim Ross is also involved as a consultant to Vince McMahon should any issues arise.

As it stands right now, there will be an “ECW” logo at the bottom of the screen and we wont see any “WWE presents” anywhere on the PPV. The feeling is that the more authentic it looks, the better. Vince apparently agrees and feels this should seem just like a real ECW PPV, production wise to talent.
