AJ Styles reacted to a recent WWE release, addressing Kairi Sane being let go. The release came as part of post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts. Several names were included in that list.
Kairi Sane’s release surprised many fans. She was part of an ongoing TV storyline with Asuka and Iyo Sky, and the trio had been featured regularly before her release. WWE also released several other names during the same period, including Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, JC Mateo, Tonga Loa, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, The Wyatt Sicks. Additional talent were included as part of the cuts. The changes followed WrestleMania 42 week.
AJ Styles says Kairi Sane’s release surprised him
Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Aj Styles shared his reaction. Styles said the situation was unclear to him. He mentioned that several people within WWE were unsure about it. He said, “I think everybody’s a little confused. Asuka and her as a tag team, and then it just kind of- We don’t know exactly what the case is.”
He continued, “I mean, that one caught me off guard as well because it was a great tag team thing. I feel like Kairi was doing her best work as of now. I wish I had answers. I don’t have these answers for you guys. I don’t know what this means for her. I don’t know, if maybe if she done wrestling. Is she going to go back to Stardom? Like, what’s next for Kairi Sane? But I know that she was loved, and she was amazing. Yeah, I just hate that.” [H/T: Fightful]
