WWE’s Nick Khan Addresses Criticism of WrestleMania 42 Ticket Prices

WWE President Nick Khan recently addressed the criticism around WrestleMania 42 ticket prices.

Fans have not been happy as the prices have gone up. And many feel it is getting too expensive. Over the past few years, WWE has increased ticket prices across major events. WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year which comes with huge crowds and huge money. However, not everyone can afford it, which is where the backlash is coming from.

Nick Khan says demand drives WrestleMania 42 ticket prices

Speaking at the SBJ CAA World Congress of Sports in Los Angeles, Nick Khan defended the pricing, as reported by The Sporting Tribune. Khan kept things simple, he said, “We’re feeling good. Last year, we set records, which we set the year prior to that. So this year we think it’s going to get close to that record, but fingers crossed.”

Still, reports suggest ticket sales are slower this time. The company has sold around 40,000 tickets for night one and 42,000 for night two so far. That is lower than last year and cost seems to be the main reason, as some ticket packages were over $850.

WWE has even added late discounts, trying to boost numbers before the event. But Khan does not see it as a problem. He said, “The marketplace dictates the ticket price.”

He also pointed out something important. He said cheaper tickets often get resold at higher prices, which shows demand is still there even if fans complain. WrestleMania 42 will take place in Las Vegas again this year. Cody Rhodes will face Randy Orton in the night one main event, while Roman Reigns will go up against CM Punk in the night two main event.
