WWE is mixing wrestling with pop culture again, and this time, they have confirmed that Joe Jonas will perform at WrestleMania 42.
Jonas is a big name in music and is best known for being a part of the Jonas Brothers. His presence will definitely bring in some extra attention, especially fans from outside wrestling. WWE has been doing more of these crossovers to attract mainstream viewership and create buzz.
Joe Jonas to kick off WrestleMania 42 with opening performance
Jonas will sing the American National Anthem to open Wrestlemania 42 Night 2 on April 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. His performance will kick off a huge show, which is headlined by Roman Reigns vs CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
WWE tweeted, “Multi-platinum and grammy-nominated recording artist @joejonas will be performing the National Anthem to kick off WrestleMania 42 Sunday!”
This also continues WrestleMania’s tradition of having big music performances. In the past, stars like Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Snoop Dogg, MGK & Skyler Grey, and recently, Jelly Roll have been part of the event.
Still, not everyone is happy. Some fans feel WrestleMania 42 has too many celebrities. Names like IShowSpeed, Jelly Roll, and Lil Yachty have also been involved. Moreover, Pat McAfee has had a big role with Randy Orton as an accomplice, which has added to the debate.
Even with the criticism, WWE seems set on this approach. The good thing for those critical fans is that Joe Jonas will only perform and will not be involved in any matches.
WWE also has not announced a performer for Night 1 yet, so there could be another big name coming.
With Joe Jonas opening Night 2, WWE is clearly trying to start the show with a big moment. This continues their efforts to transcend WrestleMania more than just a wrestling event.
