Stone Cold Steve Austin Reacts To Potentially Doing a Cinematic Match in WWE

Stone Cold Steve Austin recently shared his thoughts on the idea of doing a cinematic match in WWE.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Austin was asked by Bully Ray if he would consider a cinematic-style match like the famous bout between AJ Styles and The Undertaker. He also asked if Austin would be interested if a top or younger WWE star reached out to him for a similar kind of match.

He said he has mixed feelings about the idea. “No. Yes and no. Because it could be done.” He explained that the cinematic match between Styles and The Undertaker worked perfectly at the time. “I remember that (Boneyard) match… and it was the right time for that match.”

Stone Cold praises cinematic match, says he doesn’t want more

Stone Cold praised the match and said he really enjoyed it. “I enjoyed the hell out of that. I’ll go five-star… I loved it.” He also spoke highly of both wrestlers involved. “I love both guys as talents, as human beings. So it was badass.”

However, Austin made it clear that he does not want to see too many cinematic matches going forward. “To keep doing those, I don’t think so. I don’t know that I wanna see a whole lot more of it. It’s almost like a mini-movie… like the Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’ video.”

Austin said he is not very interested in doing one himself. “I think I’m good.”

When asked about sharing the ring for one more moment, he joked that he’d line up the current top stars and stun them all. “Oh sh*t, line them up and let me stun them… all those guys that are selling the tickets now, put them in a line fu*k them.”
