A recent segment from WWE NXT featuring Ricky Saints has quietly disappeared from the company’s social media platforms, and a new report explains why.
The moment originally aired on the March 3 episode of NXT and quickly drew attention online. WWE’s official channels initially posted the segment. However, fans soon noticed that the clip was no longer available.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the decision to remove the segment had a direct correlation to the reception it received from viewers.
Ricky Saints NXT Segment Removed From Social Media After Fan Backlash
The segment in question featured what was promoted as “The Ricky Saints Absolute Experience.” During the segment, Saints performed a concert-style parody meant to mock NXT Champion Joe Hendry ahead of their match at NXT Vengeance Day.
Saints performed a song titled “I Believe in Ricky,” mirroring the musical performances Hendry puts on during his appearances. While the idea aimed to build their rivalry, the reaction quickly turned negative online.
Fans criticized the performance heavily on social media, with many comparing it unfavorably to classic “Rock Concert” segments once performed by The Rock. The comparisons led some viewers to label the segment as a knockoff rather than a tribute.
Fightful Select reported that WWE ultimately removed the clip after the negative reception gained traction online.
The report also noted that the segment was not Saints’ idea. According to sources within NXT, he had actually been attempting to move his character away from comparisons to The Rock before the segment was produced.
Despite the backlash, the fallout from the moment did not appear to derail the storyline. WWE kept the closing portion of the segment — where Joe Hendry attacked Saints with a guitar — available on its platforms.
The feud between the two continued at NXT Vengeance Day on March 7. On that night, Hendry successfully defended the NXT Championship, leaving Saints empty-handed after the title match.
For Saints, the segment may have struck a sour note online — but the rivalry itself still played its final chord inside the ring.
