A fresh face quietly stepped into the spotlight on the February 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, and longtime viewers may have done a double check.
During the match between Oba Femi and Kit Wilson, a new referee officiated the action on the blue brand. While the in-ring chaos centered on Femi’s dominance, it was the official keeping order who sparked conversation online.
Vicky D’Errico Appears on SmackDown As Referee
The referee in question was Victoria D’Errico, who made her WWE SmackDown appearance after previously working under the NXT banner. One fan on social media (@mikeyacuna2649) even commented, “That newcomer referee is so cool!” — a quick sign that her presence didn’t go unnoticed.
D’Errico is not new to WWE. She was recruited after a tryout during WrestleMania XL week in Philadelphia in April 2024, officially signed in September 2024, and began training at the WWE Performance Center. She made her in-ring officiating debut at an NXT live event in Orlando on November 2, 2024.
Since then, she has built steady credibility. In July 2025, she drew attention for officiating the NXT Women’s Championship match at WWE Evolution 2. As of February 2026, she will also feature as an official in WWE 2K26 — a sign that she is firmly part of the company’s future plans.
Before WWE, D’Errico had an athletic resume of her own. She competed in Barstool Sports’ Rough N Rowdy promotion, capturing Women’s Lightweight and Middleweight titles. She has also earned multiple first-place honors in NPC and IFBB fitness competitions.
On SmackDown, she oversaw Oba Femi’s win over Kit Wilson, who attempted to dodge the fight with poetry before being planted with Fall From Grace. While Femi handled business in the ring, D’Errico handled business between the ropes.
For WWE SmackDown, it was a subtle debut — but one that suggests another rising official is ready for the main event spotlight.
