IYO SKY has enjoyed an extremely successful career in WWE, but a former colleague recently revealed a problem she struggles with in the ring.
During the latest episode of Zelina Vega and Dakota Kai‘s Zelvx and Charlie Girl podcast, Kai revealed that she has myopia, or nearsightedness, as it is more commonly known. While she joked that hers isn’t too bad, WWE RAW star IYO SKY‘s is as extreme as she’s ever seen.
“How it works is you get a number, right? Mine’s -1, which is not large on the scheme of things,” Kai said. “IYO told me one time that hers is -12, and I was looking at her like ‘I think that’s blind.'”
The numbers Kai referred to are what those who wear glasses often see on their prescriptions. While -1 isn’t too nearsighted, a -12 would be significantly nearsighted. Kai noted that WWE RAW’s IYO SKY does wear contacts. However, the Women’s Tag Team Champion once had a panic-filled moment in the ring when she lost a contact lens.
“One time, she did tell one of them flew out during a match, and she was freaking the f-ck out,” said Kai. “Because I think she literally is kind of blind without the contact, so…she lost her whole peripheral.”
