The February 16, 2026, episode of WWE Raw showcased a backstage segment that made Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer apologize for a comment she made during a heated promo against Liv Morgan.
The drama started after Asuka won a Triple Threat match against Natalya and Bayley, which earned Asuka a spot in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match.
Soon after, Michael Cole interviewed Morgan backstage. The 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner hasn’t revealed whether she plans to challenge Vaquer on RAW or SmackDown Women’s Champion Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42. She smiled and said she was enjoying keeping everyone guessing.
Then Vaquer suddenly walked into the interview and delivered a promo in Spanish, which Dominik Mysterio tried to translate. The champion accused Morgan of talking about hard work without knowing the meaning of real struggle. Vaquer also hinted that the WWE had showered the Royal Rumble winner with several opportunities.
Vaquer then talked about her own journey. During that promo, she said that professional wrestling “doesn’t exist” in Chile. That comment quickly spread online.
“I was born in Chile, where wrestling doesn’t exist, and still traveled the world- Japan, Mexico, Latin America, Europe- conquered everything,” Vaquer said (translated from Spanish by WWE).
The confrontation continued, with the champion accusing Morgan of hiding behind Judgment Day. She warned that if Liv Morgan chose her at WrestleMania, she would lose. The segment ended with Morgan in tears.
Stephanie Vaquer Clarifies WWE RAW Comment About Wrestling In Chile
After RAW went off the air, Vaquer posted a message on Instagram story to clear things up.
She admitted she made a mistake by saying wrestling doesn’t exist in Chile. Vaquer explained that what she meant was that when she left Chile years ago, the wrestling scene wasn’t fully developed. She apologized to Chilean wrestlers and said she respects the talent and growth of wrestling there today.
Vaquer wrote (translated from Spanish)-
“Today I made a mistake by saying, ‘In Chile, professional wrestling doesn’t exist.’ It does exist, and we have excellent representatives and a tremendous amount of talent.
What I meant to say is that it didn’t exist at the time I emigrated from my country; back then, professional wrestling was not developed in Chile. It was a mistake in wording during a live television broadcast.
I offer a sincere apology and send a big hug to all Chilean wrestlers who, through effort and dedication, have made professional wrestling in Chile a reality today.
My respect and heartfelt apologies.”
Stephanie Vaquer ha pedido disculpas en Instagram por su frase en el #WWERAW de ayer, en el que dijo que la lucha libre en Chile no existe y que se refería a que no existía cuando se fue del país.

Vaquer’s promo was meant to show how hard she worked and what she sacrificed to become a champion. Her follow-up message made it clear that she didn’t mean to disrespect the current wrestling scene in Chile.
